What's a Geodesic Dome?

Geodesic domes, inspired by natural patterns, are spherical structures celebrated for their strength and sustainable design. These domes provide expansive views of the landscape, allowing guests to connect with nature without sacrificing comfort. Different Domes; Different Experiences

At Back Forty Glamping, we offer two distinctive dome experiences: Forest Domes, for those who seek solitude among the trees, and Meadow Domes, which provide open vistas of fields and forests. Both options deliver luxury and comfort, each with unique features to enhance your stay in nature.

Forest Domes

Our Forest Domes, set along a tree line on elevated wooden decks, offer intimate views of the wilderness and a quiet pond. Each dome has a propane fireplace, stargazing roof, and private hot tub. The domes have identical layouts, but subtle differences in decor.

Meadow Domes

Positioned in open fields, our Meadow Domes showcase views of the meadows and distant forest line. Each dome has a concrete base with in-floor heating and large windows for stargazing from your bed or hot tub, and the same luxurious amenities as the Forest Domes.

Plenty of Space

Our geodesic domes are  70-100 feet apart, each surrounded by privacy fencing, to guarantee a peaceful, relaxing, and private stay. This thoughtful layout ensures that guests enjoy their own secluded sanctuary, perfectly blending solitude with the beauty of the natural surroundings.

    My daughter and I spent 2 nights in January in the Balsam dome during quite a cold snap but we were absolutely cozy and loved the heated bed blanket and fireplace. The view behind us was magical and we used the snowshoes left for us to explore the trails on the property. Such a beautiful creek, pond and forest - even in January. We enjoyed cooking our breakfasts in the well stocked kitchen and really appreciated the coffee beans and tea from local shops. We used the hot-tub several times!! So much fun to have a great adventure so close to home and feel like you had a real vacation!! Thank you Back Forty team for your thoughtfulness throughout our stay. Forty, your canine, runs an amazing place!

    Visiting Back Forty Glamping is not your average experience. This little gem will exceed any and all expectations you have from the quality sheets and coffee beans, to the little things they've thought of like make up remover and lush robes. Think Royal York Hotel, but in the woods, and with far less noise. We slept, we ate, we floated in the hot tub, we chatted by the fire, we slept like babies in the uber comfortable bed, and mostly... we unplugged. Not one detail was left to desire. Back Forty Glamping did it right. We will be back time and time again. Thank you for such a wonderful getaway. The only problem we had was not enough time to prolong our stay! Well done.     This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here between Christmas and New Years and we were blown away by this place, so much so that we are now making it a yearly tradition for our anniversary. They nailed all the little touches and details, from the Christmas tree & decorations, the heated mattress pad, a fully stocked kitchen, so all you have to bring is food! It was such a relaxing escape for us. We lost power one day for about 4.5 hours (we didn't mind at all, just added to the peace and quiet) and they kept us up-to-date through text message on the situation, the whole town was without power. Offered suggestions to us on where to go for Food that had power if needed, kept us informed the whole time on the ETA for the power coming back on. We loved the contactless check in and check out process, we didn't see a single person while there and it was amazing! The only thing that would have made it better would have been snow on the ground, maybe next year mother nature will cooperate for us. We can't wait to go back next year!
